  1. What is the value of the blockbuster formula?
The blockbuster formula has some value as it does give the director a sense that there will be a guaranteed return if the director 'splashes out' on special effects, CGI etc and through this will find companies who will pay more money to use their product in this film for product advertisement. However the other way this film could go is by playing with the blockbuster formula since the Attack on Titan series has a sense of mystery in it which involves humans being able to turn in to titans, blurring the humans versus non humans global appeal and the director could get away with playing with this aspect because the pre-existing audience of the series would want to see something similar to the animated series, not just a spectacle created through a massive budget. The film could also involve A listers such as James Franco, Tom Felton and Jennifer Lawrence.

  2. Social: superheroes have become very popular because they are a spectacle that rely heavily on CGI, however people could watch the film online, so ti make people go to the cinema, we could make the film 3D. The fact that Jennifer Lawrence is in the film might attract a female audience more than an unknown actress.

Economical: new technology means that if this wasn't anime, a lot of money could be spent on making this film 3D or 4D, which gives people a reason to go go to the cinema, however you would also run the risk that the pre-existing audience for this series would not watch it.

Technological: This could be a good animation, however modern technologies could also mean that it could be an actual film with special effects, however you could loose the fans.
